Position: Attendant (Non Driving Role)

Location: Various Locations in Detroit

Type: Full Time

Pay: $15 to 16 per hour

Position Summary

As a Mobility Specialist, you will be the face of Metropolis Parking in our parking lots and will assist customers by helping them sign up for the new parking technology as needed with a polite and courteous attitude. To be successful, you must have the stamina to stand for extended periods of time while remaining vibrant and friendly. Responsible for preventive and daily maintenance and upkeep of property, grounds, and common areas. Also responsible for customer satisfaction by answering parking and general questions.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests to the parking lots and garages and offer professional services
  • Promote good customer relations by consistently providing premier customer satisfaction with a friendly demeanor, can-do attitude, and willingness to help.
  • Handle and carefully respond to all customer inquiries on the parking lots/garages with confidence.
  • Patrol designated parking lots/ garages and identify vehicles without proper payment or permission.
  • Write and issue parking violations to parking customers and tenants who violate parking policies.
  • Document violations by photo using company-provided handheld device.
  • Maintain cleanliness in parking lots and common areas.
  • Communicate debris, water, oil spills, and other hazards appropriately.
  • Flexibility to work at a variety of different shifts.
  • Stand and walk throughout the garages and/or lots for prolonged periods of up to six consecutive hours, ensuring vigilance and safety.
  • Visually inspect vehicles in garages and lots; physically access all areas in all types of weather.
  • Repair and complete general maintenance on gate(s)
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of parking equipment
  • Wipe down surfaces, equipment, and sweep floors.
  • Perform general maintenance of the parking lot and/or garage, including but not limited to: pressure washing, power sweeping, painting, snow removal/salting (as needed), basic repairs.
  • Pick up trash throughout the garage or lot; empty trash receptacles
  • Perform basic truck maintenance including cleaning, washing, oil changes, headlight replacement, and other general upkeep
  • Work independently and as part of the team
  • Observe safety precautions at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Essential Functions

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodations. Reasonable accommodations may be approved by the Human Resources department to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands include talking, hearing, standing, handling items, walking swiftly, and occasionally stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds. Visual abilities include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
