Tareen Dermatology invites motivated graduates to join a structured Gap Year Clinical Assistant program. You will work closely with dermatology providers in a busy outpatient clinic, gaining hands-on patient care, medical documentation, and exposure to medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.

The role offers full-time hours, non-exempt status, and a clear path to professional development through workshops, mentorship, and real-world clinical responsibilities for 14 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science field completed before start date.
• Interest in pursuing medical school or PA school.
• Full-time availability for a minimum of 14 months.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in typing, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong computer skills and professionalism.
• Willingness to travel to alternate clinic locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visits and escort to examination rooms.
• Interview patients and verify medical history, meds, vitals, and visit reason.
• Document histories, exams, assessments, and plans with provider direction.
• Record clinical visits and procedures in the EMR.
• Ensure accurate recording of labs, test results, and interpretations.
• Submit orders as directed by the provider.
• Communicate pathology results to patients as directed.
• Respond promptly to patient calls and inquiries.
• Support efficient patient flow and clinic operations.
• Travel to alternate clinic locations as required.
