Home/ Office Based: Remote

Purpose

Gender equality is essential to realizing UNICEF\'s mandate. The Gender Action Plan (GAP) 2022-25 outlines steps to accelerate progress on gender equality across the Strategic Plan goals and internal systems, with indicators and monitoring mechanisms to track change. UNICEF reports on GAP progress annually and to the UN system and donors.

Scope of Work / Responsibilities
  1. Support data quality assurance and aggregation for annual reporting
  2. Facilitate the production of various gender reports to document gender results, challenges and lessons

Scope of Work / Deliverables:

The Consultant will deliver in coordination with regional and country offices as needed.

  1. Facilitate development of reports/slides with project timelines and ToRs for editors and designers
  2. Submit SWAP report through the portal and prepare reporting for the Gender Equality Acceleration Plan
  3. Facilitate production of the Data Companion to the Executive Board report
  4. Develop a slide deck for presenting gender results to the Executive Board (with designer)
Qualifications

Education: An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in social sciences, public health, public policy, public administration, international development or related field is required.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in gender and development; writing and data analysis
  • Experience in managing programmes/projects, including budgets and contracts
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Knowledge of UNICEF/UN reporting systems is an asset
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal); another UN language is an asset
Requirements
  • Completed profile in UNICEF\'s e-Recruitment system
  • Upload copies of academic credentials
  • Financial proposal with: costs per deliverable, total lump-sum, travel costs and daily subsistence if applicable, other costs (visa, health insurance)
  • Visa/health insurance validity and health requirements as applicable
  • Payment upon satisfactory deliverables; UNICEF reserves right to withhold payment for delays or substandard work

Other notes: Consultants not staff members under UN Staff Regulations; visa status considerations; vaccination requirements for SARS-CoV-2 where applicable; background checks may be required.
