Job summary

Husqvarna Construction in Columbia, SC is seeking a Gantry Mill Machinist to set up and operate a Haas Gantry Milling Machine. You will perform milling, drilling, reaming, and boring to produce parts per blueprints, while maintaining quality and efficiency.

This role requires strong reading of drawings, tool selection, and precision measurement. The position is on 2nd shift (2:30 p.m.–11:00 p.m.), with responsibilities including setup, tool management, and basic CNC programming.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED with machine tool training or equivalent experience.
• 2 years minimum machine shop training and 1 year machine shop experience required; CNC cert preferred.
• Must read and interpret engineering drawings and understand metal properties.

Responsibilities

• Set up Haas Gantry Milling Machine and select cutting tools.
• Write or modify basic CNC programs and perform machining operations.
• Conduct QC checks using micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators to ensure blueprints/routing compliance.
• Maintain tooling and cleanliness of work area; assist with other duties as needed.
