Job summary

Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians in California is seeking an accounting clerk to maintain records of financial transactions and support daily cash handling. You will verify, post, and reconcile transactions, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with internal controls and gaming regulations.

The role requires an Associate’s degree (or equivalent experience) and meticulous attention to detail. Availability for varied shifts, weekends, and emergency calls is expected to support 24/7

Qualifications

• Must possess an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Verify, allocate, and post details of daily transactions to ledgers or files.
• Reconcile and balance tapes and records to daily cash count and summarizes details in separate ledgers or computer files.
• Compile reports to show statistics such as cash receipts and machine payouts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to operation of the business.
• Perform daily audit analysis of various functions to assess risks and discrepancies and potentially fraudulent activity or trends.
• Reviews all offsetting variances that require investigation, research and problem solving based on approved policies and procedures.
• Analyze transactions, identify risks and provide recommendations to management based on audit results.
• Ensure compliance with all Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) as well as all Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS).
• Present a positive image of the Tribal organization to its guests and vendors and to assist them as required.
