Job summary

The Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians seeks an experienced auditor to oversee casino operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and tribal laws. The role includes evaluating internal controls, reporting weaknesses, and coordinating with the Tribal Gaming Commission to protect tribal assets.

Responsibilities include audits of risk areas, data analyses, and producing formal reports while upholding the Tribe's service promises and integrity standards.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent audit and gaming experience, with certifications preferred.
• Strong knowledge of internal audit processes and controls.
• Experience in gaming/hospitality regulation or auditing preferred.
• Familiarity with GAAP/GAAS/COSO/GASB and auditing ethics.
• Experience identifying risks and improving processes.
• Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and detail orientation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and audit/data analytics tools.
• Experience with NIGC MICS, SOX, and BSA/AML audits preferred.
• Ability to perform duties impartially, maintain public trust, and adhere to regulations.
• No direct relatives employed by Casino Operations or the TGC.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight to ensure compliance with federal, state, and tribal laws and regulations.
• Evaluate internal controls and report material weaknesses with recommended policies.
• Work with Internal Audit to examine records for proper transactions and compliance.
• Inspect accounting systems for efficiency, accuracy, and protection.
• Analyze data for deficiencies, duplication of effort, or noncompliance.
• Prepare written audit reports with findings and recommendations for TGC review.
