Job summary

GameStop is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations. You will drive a sales culture by sharing product knowledge, ensuring an organized shopping environment, and growing guest loyalty through outstanding service.

The role requires supervision of Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders, with emphasis on training, scheduling, and performance feedback. A strong background in retail management and gaming knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or accredited bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
• At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
• At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
• Video game knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide best-in-class guest service and greet guests; respond to questions and promote promotions.
• Support store operations and visual merchandising; ensure a clean, organized shopping environment.
• Process guest purchases/returns via POS system; provide receipts and exchanges.
• Elevate customer issues to Store Manager when needed; maintain professional conduct.
• Promote loyalty programs and guest benefits to increase repeat business.
• Train and supervise Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in policies and procedures.
• Ensure onboarding and training for all associates before opening/closing shifts.
• Schedule staff and manage payroll, breaks, and compliance training.
• Maintain store records and ensure cleanliness, safety, and asset protection.
