Job summary

Augustine Casino seeks a Background Investigator reporting directly to the Director of Compliance to conduct preliminary applicant investigations and ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations and Tribal Gaming Ordinance.

Duties include interviewing applicants, verifying employment and gaming licenses, processing fingerprints, notarizing documents, creating badges and employee files, updating databases, and coordinating licensing steps with HR. Must be 21+ and external candidates only.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
• Notary Public appointment by the State of California preferred or required.
• Experience in gaming environment is desirable.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Conduct background investigations for initial applicants and internal transfers.
• Verify employment, references, and gaming licenses; process investigations.
• Meet with applicants, take fingerprints, notarize documents, create badges and files.
• Update databases, notify on licensing changes, and coordinate with HR.
• Maintain compliance with Federal, State, Tribal regulations and notary requirements.
