IGT in Chicago, IL is seeking a Game Mathematician to shape player experience by designing the mathematical models behind our casino games. This role involves collaboration across the full development lifecycle within a hybrid work setup connected to the Chicago office.

The candidate will develop models for RTP, volatility, and game behavior, document math models, and validate results using Excel and simulations.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of game mathematics experience for real-money casino games.
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, physics, or a related field.
• Strong MS Excel skills and basic programming knowledge (C++, C#, or similar).

At IGT, we design and build casino games played by millions of players worldwide. For our studio we’re searching for talented Game Mathematician based in Chicago, IL who are passionate about creating engaging, high class gaming experiences.

What You Will Do

• As a Game Mathematician, you will play a key role in shaping the player experience by designing and analyzing the mathematical models behind our games. You will contribute across the full game development lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Designing and developing mathematical models for casino games, including RTP, volatility, and overall game behavior. Creating math for original titles for digital or land-based games.
• Producing clear and detailed mathematical documentation (math models, game logic)
• Testing and validating game outcomes using Excel, simulations, and internal tools
• Supporting development teams with mathematical insights and ensuring accuracy throughout production

What We're Looking For

• 2-3 years of experience in game mathematics for real-money casino games.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, physics)
• Solid experience with MS Excel and basic programming knowledge (C++, C#, or similar language)

The estimated starting compensation range for this role is $70,000– $80,000 annually USD, based on a good-faith assessment at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary. IGT complies with all applicable pay transparency and compensation laws and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

Base pay is one component of IGT’s total rewards program. Depending on the role, employees may be eligible for bonus or commission opportunities.
