Job summary

Mountain Ridge Middle School in Gerrardstown, WV is seeking a Game Manager to assist the athletic director and principal in setting up and supervising athletic contests across seasons. Responsibilities

• Setting up and taking down equipment for the field/court, including press box, scorer’s table, lights, concession stand, restrooms, bleachers, storage.
• Setting up ticket booths and handling tickets, cash box, and forms.
• Welcome game officials and escort them to their dressing room before and after the contest and at halftime; pay officials by check on site.
• Greet opponents, escort to locker room, and provide instructions; attend to them before and after contests.
• Meet security and position crowd control; maintain contact with security during and after contests.
• Monitor crowd and take actions to maintain order during contests.
• Position support personnel such as announcer, clock operator, scorekeeper, chain crew, medical/ambulance, parking, etc.
• Arrive at least 1.5 hours before contests begin; ensure area is secured and cleanup proceeds after events.
• Assume other duties assigned by principal and athletic director.

REPORTS TO:Principal/Athletic Director

RESPONSIBILITY: To assist the athletic director/principal in setting up and supervising athletic contests during the fall, winter, and spring seasons.

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

• Setting up and taking down equipment for the field/court. This will include the press box, scorer’s table, lights, concession stand, restrooms, bleachers, storage, etc.
• Setting up the ticket booths and handling the tickets, cash box, and appropriate forms.
• Welcome game officials and escort them to their dressing room before and after the contest and at halftime. Pay officials by check when they arrive at the contest site.
• Welcome opponents to the school and escort them to their locker room. Give opponents appropriate instructions. Attend to opponents before and after contest.
• Meet security and position security for crowd control. Keep in contact with security during and after contest to maintain crowd control.
• Monitor crowd during contest and take appropriate actions to maintain crowd control.
• Monitor and position the following support personnel: announcer, clock operator, scorekeeper, chain crew, medical/ambulance personnel, parking, etc.
• Arrive at least one and one-half hours before contest is to begin (unless otherwise instructed). Be the last to leave after opponents and officials departed, security has secured the area, field/courts are secured, and janitors have begun clean up.
• Assume other duties assigned by the principal and/or athletic director.
