The Pennsylvania Game Commission is seeking an experienced and dependable Game Lands Maintenance Worker for the State Game Lands in Lawrence County. The primary purpose of these lands is the management of habitat for wildlife and provide opportunities for lawful hunting and trapping. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Game Lands Maintenance Worker 1, you will be performing semi-skilled work and assisting with other duties as needed. For example, you will assist with maintenance, repair, and construction of bridges, roads, parking areas, gates, posting signs, ranges, and more.You will also have the opportunity to assist with habitat areas and herbaceous openings in forested areas by operating heavy equipment and utilizing your chainsaw skills.

This is the perfect job for you to continue developing skills in the construction trade as well as expand your knowledge and understanding of the agency’s wildlife habitat program!

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of laboring experience using construction tools and equipment; or
  • One year of farming experience using agricultural tools and equipment; or
  • One year of construction equipment operation experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
  • This position is required to obtain an active Class A Commercial Driver’s License within one year of employment in this job.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
