DESCRIPTION OF WORK

A Game Land Maintenance Worker 1 performs semi-skilled work and assists with other duties. For example, you will assist with maintenance, repair, and construction of bridges, roads, parking areas, gates, posting signs, ranges, and more. This position will also require you to assist with mowing, habitat management, and other duties as needed. Work utilizes a variety of equipment including hand tools, power tools, vehicles, off-road motorized equipment, and farm implements. You will also have opportunities to learn techniques and methodology of designing, planting, and maintaining food plots for wildlife habitat, as well as chances to advance your career. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Work involves traversing all types of terrains and work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of laboring experience using construction tools and equipment; or
  • One year of farming experience using agricultural tools and equipment; or
  • One year of construction equipment operation experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
  • This position is required to obtain an active Class A Commercial Driver’s License within one year of employment in this job

Additional Requirement:

  • This position is in Waynesburg, PA – Greene County. You must be willing to commute or relocate to work at this location.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Experience in wildlife habitat management including producing food plots, improving or maintaining existing habitat to benefit wildlife by using tools and/or equipment
  • Experience in agricultural practices using and maintaining tools and equipment
  • Experience in the labor and construction industry using and maintaining tools and equipment
  • A Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
  • Any other credentials, certifications, or licenses that may assist you in this position
