Confluence Academy seeks a seasonal, part-time Game Duty worker to support high school athletics. You will help run game-day operations, manage entry points, clock and scorekeeping, and supervise volunteers to ensure a safe, organized event.

You must communicate clearly with students, staff, officials, and spectators, stay professional under pressure, and follow directions from athletic staff. The role is on-site at various venues, with physical duties and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Gate Fee Collection - Collect admission fees and manage entry flow.
• Door Monitoring - Monitor designated entry points for access control.
• Concession Stand Oversight - Supervise student workers/volunteers and restock items.
• Game Clock Operation - Operate the running clock as directed by referees.
• Scorekeeping - Maintain the official scorebook accurately.
• Public Address Announcing - Deliver clear, professional announcements during varsity contests.
• Referee Escort - Provide locker room access and post-game escort for officials.
• Custodial Notification - Report hazards or sanitation issues in event areas.
• Crowd Control Support - Alert staff to inappropriate spectator behavior.
• Football Chain Crew - Fulfill chain and yardage responsibilities for football.
• Statistician Duties - Record and maintain game statistics as assigned.
• Other Duties - Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the athletic director.

Game Duty - High School AthleticsPosition Summary: The Game Duty worker supports Confluence Academies' high school athletic program by ensuring safe, organized, and efficient game-day operations. This position assists with event logistics before, during, and after athletic contests held at on-site or off-site facilities. Game Duty workers help maintain a positive environment for student-athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators while modeling professionalism and sports-like behavior.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesGame Duty workers may be assigned one or more of the following responsibilities:Gate Fee Collection - Collect admission fees and manage entry flow into the event.Door Monitoring - Monitor designated entry points to ensure appropriate access.Concession Stand Oversight - Supervise student workers/volunteers, ensure timely service, restock items as needed.Game Clock Operation - Operate the running clock at the discretion of referees or game officials.Scorekeeping - Maintain the official scorebook accurately.Public Address Announcing - Provide clear, professional announcements during varsity contests.Referee Escort - Provide locker room access, escort officials at halftime and post-game, and collect required forms.Custodial Notification - Report hazards, safety concerns, or sanitation issues in event areas.Crowd Control Support - Alert the administrator on duty to inappropriate spectator or athletic behavior.Football Chain Crew - Fulfill chain and yardage responsibilities for football contests.Statistician Duties - Record and maintain game statistics as assigned.Other Duties - Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the building athletic director.QualificationsAbility to communicate clearly and professionally withs students, staff, officials, and spectators.Ability to follow directions from athletic administrators and game officials.Reliability and punctuality for scheduled contests.Basic operational knowledge of scoreboards, clocks, or willingness to be trained.Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.Working Conditions & Physical RequirementsCandidates must be able to:Stand for extended periods of time.Walk long distances at off-site facilities.Lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height.Bend, stoop, climb stairs, and reach overhead as needed.Hear and understand speech in noisy environments.Speak clearly for communication or public address announcing.Operate equipment such as clocks, scorebooks, and communication devices.Reports to: Principal/Athletic and Activities DirectorPosition Type: Seasonal, part-time; hours vary based on athletic schedule.
