Job summary

Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering in Durham, NC seeks an Executive in Residence to support the Master of Engineering in Game Design, Development & Innovation (GDDI). This full-time, on-site role will teach two courses per fall and spring semesters, including C++ for Game Development and Unreal Engine.

The EIR mentors student teams, helps shape the program’s technical infrastructure, and expands industry partnerships with game studios and tech firms in the region.

Qualifications

• Ten years of experience in technical roles within game industry or related field.
• Deep expertise in C++ and Unreal Engine.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Undergraduate and graduate degree required; terminal degree preferred; master’s acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Teach two courses per fall and spring semester (C++ for Game Development, Unreal Engine).
• Mentor student teams through two-year studio capstone project.
• Design and teach electives in engine development, AI, graphics, VR/AR.
