What will the work look like for me?

This is an ongoing temporary position for a Game Day Technician. Hours worked each week will depend on the number of events, typically 7–8 hours per event. This position supports Daktronics equipment at Louisiana State University football home games, with potential expansion to other campus venues. The work schedule is based on the event schedule and includes weeknight and weekend shifts.

As a Game Day Technician, you will bring the game to life on the video board. If you love sporting events, dislike being confined to an office, and want work experience related to your major, this is the job for you!

Our Game Day Technicians are part of a collaborative team responsible for the technical support of our game day events.

  • Provide on-site maintenance for all Daktronics systems and control equipment:
    • Learn Daktronics products, control/scoring systems, and processes; diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair these systems accurately and efficiently.
    • Complete hardware repairs using hand tools, multimeter, and troubleshooting equipment.
    • Work effectively in a team environment.
    • Meter AC & DC power and diagnose issues.
    • Complete quality work under pressure and within time constraints.
  • Perform pre-event equipment checks and repairs.
  • Arrive on time for scheduled events.
  • Assist where needed and suggest improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To be considered for the Game Day Technician role, you should meet the following:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or associate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, Electronic Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Availability to work during game days, including days, evenings, and weekends, depending on the event schedule.
  • Ability to work at heights, from ladders, and carry ladders, tools, and parts.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 45 pounds.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and exercise independent judgment.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take on responsibilities.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Applicants must be 18 years or older.
