Job summary

AZZ Inc. in Portage, IN, seeks a 1st shift Production Worker to support the galvanizing process and maintain safety standards.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will tie and rack material, inspect equipment, and assist with prep and cleaning to meet customer commitments. Ideal candidates have 1+ year manufacturing experience, ability to lift 50 lbs, and good communication skills; training provided on galvanizing procedures and safety policies.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled facility.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Previous experience with hand tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Tie or assist with tying material onto racks for galvanizing.
• Prepare material for pickling tanks using approved methods.
• Inspect and operate equipment (forklifts, cranes) before use.
• Rack, unrack, or clean material as directed.
• Assist with training new production helpers.
