Job summary

Sabre Industries, Inc. in Sioux City, IA, is seeking a skilled galvanizing/finish worker to ensure product quality through grinding and finishing of steel components, while following safety guidelines.

You will read work orders, operate grinders, forklifts and cranes, inspect material, and maintain a clean, organized work area to meet production standards and Sabre safety requirements. Strong reliability and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand basic verbal English.
• Experience using hand tools (grinder or file) is highly preferred.
• Experience using forklifts and cranes highly preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English is highly preferred.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing facility highly preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Regular and timely attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• File or grind excess zinc, ash or drip marks from ends of product from hot dipping.
• Deburr and clean threads on steel products.
• Follow repair procedures for uncoated areas (grind and apply paint).
• Manually stack or move steel products up to 75 lbs or use jib crane/forklift.
• Use zinc-based alloys and sprayed zinc on steel products.
• Tag and place material for identification.
• Count, weigh or measure finished products against bills of lading or work orders.
• Inspect all lifting equipment prior to use.
• Inspect material after galvanizing for Sabre safety and quality guidelines.
• Perform housekeeping to keep area clean and organized.
• Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor/Management.
