Job description

New downtown hotel boasting modern luxury accommodations and enchanting views, is looking for a front desk host to help assist an excellent team. Apply now if you are focused on providing an experience to guests that is second to none!

The Gallery Host creates the Hyatt Place experience for our guests.

This position assumes full responsibility for creating an experience for hotel guests by offering them a larger than home experience with welcoming, helpful and exceptional service, while maintaining a clean, comfortable and inviting environment. Being aware and attentive to guest's needs.

Responsibilities
  1. Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests of the hotel.
  2. Verify customers' credit and establish payment method.
  3. Assist guests with check in and check out processes (verifying registration, address, and credit information, balancing bank, posting charges).
  4. Go above and beyond to provide assistance, assist with luggage, coffee, directions, wake up calls, future reservations, etc.
  5. Coordinate all guest requests, inform guests of hotel services, features, and room amenities.
  6. Prepare, set up, stock, takedown, clean, and provide quality beverages and food products consistently for all guests by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
  7. Make and confirm reservations.
  8. Compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests.
  9. Must be able to receive information on all hotel facilities, including the service offered by the hotel.
  10. Gallery Hosts must be able to provide directions to local businesses, places of interest, major highways, airports, restaurants, churches, etc.
  11. Answer hotel phone and handle guest requests and inquiries.
  12. Transmit and receive messages, using telephones or PMS system.
  13. Perform bookkeeping activities, such as balancing accounts.
  14. Coffee to Cocktails Bar and 24/7 Gallery Market.
  15. Attend to Café Seating Areas, Gallery Kitchen, and Assembly Kitchen.
  16. Prepare food amenities.
  17. Clean and maintain kitchen and dining room facilities.
  18. Inventory control of Gallery Host Stand supplies and kitchen supplies.
  19. Create conversations and share a moment thereby making a real connection with our guests.
  20. Practice safe work habits and use required safety equipment.
  21. Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
  22. Perform other duties as requested by management.

  1. Available to work any shift and any days - schedule flexibility.
  2. Outstanding customer service skills.
  3. Dynamic, engaging and passionate personality with the ability to multi-task.
  4. Ability to work well with other associates.
  5. Maintain brand standards.
  6. Be an outgoing, welcoming personality for the Hotel.
  7. Speak and write clearly and accurately.
  8. Complete all assigned tasks, reports, projects etc. in a professional manner and on an on-time basis.
Physical Requirements
  1. Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, or hear.
  2. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and pushing and/or pulling approximately 50lbs.
  3. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  4. Ability to stand during the entire 8-hour shift.
