Job summary

Island Hospitality is seeking a Guest Host/Front Desk for our gallery space in Herndon, VA. The role involves greeting guests, checking in/out hotel guests, processing payments, and providing information to guests and vendors.

You will manage shift reports, cash handling, and ensure the gallery is well-stocked with beverages and food items. The position emphasizes strong guest service, teamwork, and the ability to stay composed during busy periods.

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a guest-focused, friendly, outgoing individual to greet and assist guests as our Gallery Host/Front Desk.

Job Requirements

• Check-in/Check-out hotel guests
• Process all payments according to established hotel requirements
• Provide information and assistance to all guests and vendors
• Prepares all necessary reports during each shift for the management team
• Follow financial control procedures for cash, vouchers, inventories, and receivables
• Prepare, set up, stock, take down, clean, and provide quality beverages and food products, adhering to all recipe and presentation standards
• Ensure gallery remains well-stocked at all times Receiving food and beverage orders as needed
• Prepare and plate all food items on the menu
• Cleaning and sanitizing countertops and floors after each shift
• Validate customers' IDs and monitor all beverage consumption in order to avoid severe intoxication

Job Qualifications

• Ability to use hot food preparation machines such as, but not limited to, oven, stove, and microwave to cook or heat food items
• Basic knowledge of how to operate all Food and Beverage equipment
• Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
• Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
• Ability to work well in stressful situations
• Readily available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service

The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
