An integral part of the Esperanza Arts Center team, the Gallery & Engagement Coordinator is the primary liaison between gallery artists and EAC and responsible for all aspects of installation, curation, communications, event logistics and engagement initiatives for Galeria Esperanza. The Gallery & Engagement Coordinator will manage ticketing and box office, patron relations, and front of house operations for EAC events and will lead and manage all audience talkbacks, gallery tours, and panel discussions. You are the hub of a wheel whose end-product is a consistently positive, professional, memorable, and meaningful experience for all participants through exemplary, well-managed productions and well-maintained facilities.

EAC is also a forum for learning for young people in our community. Through our Mentor Fellow internship program, students gain insights, understanding, and real-world experience in production and arts administration guided and trained by industry professionals. As a Mentor Fellow supervisor and trainer for Galeria Esperanza and EAC Front of House operations you

must be an articulate and compelling representative of your work with a passion and gift for teaching and mentoring others.

Essential Functions

Ideal candidate will have experience in exhibition coordination, planning and design, front of house and box office logistics, as well as assisting in the promotion of visual art exhibitions and sales. The Gallery & Engagement Coordinator will work closely with the Senior Vice President, resident artists, and various stakeholders to support and contribute to the growth of the exhibition program that celebrates and promotes the diverse artistic talents of Latino artists in the Philadelphia region. This position requires the candidate to be onsite for EAC live events, exhibition installations, openings, gallery operational hours, events and other gallery and arts center related activities and productions.

Requirements

• Coordinate all administrative aspects of Galeria Esperanza exhibitions, and artist residency activities.
• Facilitate the planning and implementation process for the Galeria including exhibit installations, artist coordination, managing exhibition schedule, and working closely with guest curators
• Schedule, train, and supervise gallery and front of house staffing by EAC Mentor Fellows
• Maintain accurate attendance and sales and box office records, reconcile sales, and coordinate artist payments along with other gallery functions
• Exhibition installation management, staffing plans, and marketing and administrative support
• Coordinate and implement gallery related events such as opening receptions and other special events, community engagement events, panel discussions, guided tours and audience talkbacks.
• Collaborate with Marketing department and work with artists to create all copy, media alerts, and gallery written content, oversee design promotional collateral materials and signage for exhibitions, gallery related events, performance programs and other supporting materials.
• Evening and weekend hours required for openings, perfomances, and special events.

• Understanding of Esperanza’s mission, goals, and objectives and ability to work independently with a high level of energy and contribute as part of a larger team.
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for Esperanza's mission.
• Professionalism and maturity in working with and acting as artist liaison, installation contractors, patron experience and communications, youth supervision, community engagement.
• Demonstrated experience and capacity to lead, manage, motivate, inspire, train and collaborate with staff, artists, community partners, and volunteers.
• Comprehensive knowledge of, and interest in, a variety of arts disciplines and all aspects of arts venue management.
• Experience and a high degree of comfort working with K-12 children and their families, as well as professional artists and speakers of diverse backgrounds.
• Persuasive advocate on behalf of Latino arts and culture who is able to connect with

a broad spectrum of people in meaningful and positive ways.

• Fluency in Spanish and English preferred

Experience, Education, and Licensure

• B.A. in studio art, art history, museum studies, arts management, or related field
• At least three (3) years professional experience in galleries, museums, performance venues, in a non-profit organization, or arts organization or related industry;
• Proven experience in leading and coordinating projects, exhibitions, community engagement initiatives, and arts related events and productions
• Demonstrated ability to generate and execute complex creative ideas and projects and?to assimilate and organize large amounts of information.
• Ability to consistently work well with others, demonstrating at all times respect for diverse constituencies and within the cultural and arts landscape of Hunting Park, the Philadelphia region, and beyond;
• Highly proficient in Office, including Word and Excel, CRMs and event and ticketing platforms.
