The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division of Finance, Bureau of Fiscal Operations is seeking a Financial Reporting Section Manager to oversee the department's GAAP reporting processes, directing and coordinating staff activities. The role emphasizes strong leadership in fiscal operations with a focus on accurate financial reporting.

Ideal candidates have a four-year college education with accounting/budgeting coursework and at least four years of supervisory accounting

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year college degree, preferably with courses in fiscal management, accounting, and budgeting.
• Minimum four years of progressively responsible administrative experience in accounting, external auditing or budgetary planning and control, or public accounting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee GAAP reporting processes for the Department.
• Supervise staff in the Financial Reporting Section.
• Establish and implement accounting policies and procedures.
• Monitor and analyze automated accounting systems for GAAP compliance.
• Coordinate data collection from bureaus and other agencies.
• Plan strategically to address accounting needs and interfaces with SAMS.
