Job Summary

GA Pre-K assistant teachers support the lead teacher in implementing quality instruction and supervision.

Key Duties

• Maintain excellent punctuality and attendance.
• Assist in planning and implementing developmentally and linguistically appropriate activities.
• Assess safety of classroom and outdoor areas before activities.
• Organize classroom environments for learning, eating, resting, and playing.
• Develop daily schedules of child-initiated and teacher-initiated activities.
• Maintain staff and classroom ratios at all times.
• Lead the classroom in the absence of the Teacher.

Requirements

• Valid Paraprofessional Certificate (Georgia PSC)
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
• Technical Certificate of Credit or Diploma in Early Childhood Education
• Associate Degree (AA, AS, AAS, AAT)
• Montessori Diploma from an accredited institution
• Bachelor’s Degree (BA, BS)
• Georgia PSC Certified Teacher
• Master’s Degree (MA, MS)
• Specialist Degree or PhD

Preferred Experience

Experience working in a GA Pre-K classroom.
