Job summary

Shieldwall Services LLC is seeking a supervisor to oversee maintenance of parks and recreational facilities and grounds. You will plan schedules, supervise crews including inmate labor, inspect playgrounds, and coordinate athletic field prep for events.

Responsibilities include equipment planning, safety adherence, and addressing public and departmental requests. A valid driver's license is required with CDL eligibility. Outdoor work in various weather conditions is expected.

Qualifications

Job description

This position performs supervisory duties in the maintenance of parks and recreational facilities and grounds.

• Plans and directs the implementation of daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules.
• Analyzes equipment requirements and makes recommendations for purchases.
• Attends meetings and conferences to discuss current work problems, policy changes, work orders, safety guidelines, and related matters.
• Receives and acts upon requests or complaints from other departments and the general public.
• Plans, assigns, directs, and supervises work crews engaged in parks maintenance projects; supervises the maintenance of equipment.
• Supervises the work of inmate laborers.
• Inspects playground equipment; supervises necessary repairs.
• Supervises the repair of windows, doors, and roofs; supervises and performs carpentry duties in the repair and renovation of park facilities.
• Coordinates the preparation and maintenance of athletic fields before and after sporting events.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of specialized training in the occupational field, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.? Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions and to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years experience or service.? Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.This position is required to supervise state inmate labor. Employee must pass the Department of Corrections three-day certification within the time frame required by this department, which is normally six (6) months but may be altered. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, or walking. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects, climbs ladders, and uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
