Job summary

ThyssenKrupp Presta AG in Aurora, Ohio is seeking a skilled machinist to set up and operate numerically controlled milling and drilling machines. The ideal candidate will participate in continuous improvement initiatives, maintain the machines and work area, and ensure all operations are performed safely and efficiently.

Position Summary

Set up and operate numerically controlled milling / drilling machine to perform machining operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Participate in continuous improvement performing 5S and safety audits.
• TPM activities and creating programs that foster cost reductions.
• Studies blueprints / setup instructions to determine dimension, proper tooling, machining required and feed and speed rates.
• Calls down appropriate program for part or writes program for part.
• Selects and installs tooling into tool posts, turrets or indexing heads and automatic tool change magazine in sequence specified on process sheet.
• Accurately completes appropriate production related paperwork.
• Maintains machines to insure maximum machine performance.
• Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
• Performs all duties and operations in a safe manner in accordance with all company rules and safety procedures.

Skills, Abilities and Education

Knowledge of computer and electronic equipment, effective time management, effective communication, previous machining experience required.
