Job summary

Blue Owl seeks an Associate to join the Legal Entity Controllership team, overseeing the firm's consolidated G&A accounting framework that underpins monthly close and expense reporting across the multi-entity structure.

This hands-on role focuses on owning the month-end close for the consolidated G&A expense base, maintaining accruals and reconciliations, driving process improvements, and partnering with FP&A, Tax, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate, complete financial results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• 2 to 4 years of relevant public accounting or corporate accounting/controllership experience within financial services.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables, lookups, SUMIFS, and large data analysis.
• Ability to reconcile and analyze data across multiple systems and sources.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close process for the consolidated G&A expense base.
• Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and prepaid amortization.
• Ensure expenses are recorded accurately within the appropriate legal entity and natural account.
• Assess and validate the completeness and accuracy of the G&A accrual population.
• Partner with FP&A and business stakeholders to identify and capture expenses.
• Perform period-over-period and budget-to-actual variance analyses.
• Reconcile G&A balance sheet accounts and maintain audit trails.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and drive automation.
• Prepare audit support schedules and respond to auditor inquiries.
• Support cross-functional partnership with FP&A, Tax, and operations.
