Position Summary
The FYI Center case manager will be responsible for assisting the supervisor with overseeing residents, conducting intakes, safety and success planning, responding to crises at the center, attending stakeholder/leadership meetings, conducting trainings, completing CANS assessments, and ensuring the overall safety of residents and employees at FYI.
Position Responsibilities
- Complete Motivational Interviewing training (provided by FYI) within 3 months of hire.
- Adhere to policies and procedures set by the Marion Superior Court and FYI Center.
- Make referrals to community resources as appropriate.
- Complete incident reports and treatment plans.
- Become CANS certified within 3 months of employment.
- Be knowledgeable about teaching skills to youth and guiding them in practicing those skills.
- Adhere to confidentiality policies.
- Complete data entry in a timely manner.
- Complete 20 hours of yearly educational training related to working with youth.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and service providers, maintaining professional communication.
- Comply with DCS rules and regulations.
- Review documents and provide guidance and feedback.
- Conduct meetings with youth and families to ensure Safety and Success Planning.
- Serve in other capacities as directed by the Chief Probation Officer, adhering to the department’s team philosophy.
- Work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Participate in weekly supervision with the Lead Care Coordinator or Director.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Pass a background check.
- Possess a bachelor’s degree with 1 year of experience in a child caring institution.
- Understand cultural values and norms.
- Know culturally specific resources within the community and state.
- Show sensitivity to barriers faced by children affecting access and engagement.
- Interact effectively with diverse backgrounds and treat everyone with respect and dignity.
- Engage with diverse staff and leadership to promote trust and collaboration.
- Remain solution-focused and respectful in all interactions.
- Possess organizational and analytical skills.
- Demonstrate sound ethics and judgment.
- Be knowledgeable about current office technology and systems.
- Organize, oversee, and complete multiple projects with limited supervision.
- Pay attention to details and deadlines, and follow through on responsibilities.
- Communicate effectively in both written and oral formats.
- Experience with computer word-processing, case management, and related software.
Must be a resident of Marion County within six months of hire.
