Job Specific Information: This position is for a part-time Arabic teacher to teach levels 1, 2, and 3. The three levels of Arabic meet at the same time. A candidate interested in this position must be able to differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students at each level of Arabic. Summary Description:

Under the direction of the school principal, plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students. Creates an environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for every student. Supervises students in various school-related settings. Monitors and evaluates student outcomes. Communicates and interacts effectively with students, parents, staff, and the community. Develops, selects, and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the diverse needs of students. Maintains accurate records and follows required procedures and practices. Ensures proper use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.

Physical Demands: As required by the duties and responsibilities of the job.

Special Requirements: Must attend school meetings, programs, and activities outside the instructional day as mandated by the MCEA contract.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Knowledge of MCPS curriculum, curriculum integration techniques, MCPS policies, and effective instructional practices. Understanding of the teaching and learning process. Ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and promotes multicultural education. Ability to incorporate technology into the curriculum. Effective collaboration with administrators, colleagues, central office staff, students, parents, and the community. Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.

Education, Training, and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of education from an accredited institution is required. For foundation office programs, candidates must have a secondary school diploma with at least five years of full-time industry experience in the discipline within the last 10 years, or a bachelor's degree in education with demonstrated industry experience. Industry licensures and certifications are preferred. Meets Maryland state certification requirements in the appropriate field of education.
