Under the direction of the school principal, the teacher plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students. The role involves creating an environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students to ensure Success for Every Student. Responsibilities include supervising students in various school settings, monitoring and evaluating student outcomes, communicating with students, parents, staff, and community members, developing and modifying instructional plans and materials to meet diverse needs, maintaining records, and ensuring proper use and care of equipment and facilities. Attendance at school meetings, programs, and activities outside the instructional day is required as mandated by the MCEA agreement.

Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of education from an accredited college or university. Meets Maryland state certification requirements in the relevant field. Knowledge of MCPS curriculum, effective instructional practices, multicultural education, and technology integration. Ability to work effectively with staff, students, parents, and community, with excellent communication skills.
