An established institution is seeking a Senior Resident Assistant to enhance the educational experience in residence halls. The purpose of the Senior Resident Assistant position is to assist the Residential Coordinators and Resident Assistants in providing a quality educational environment in the residence halls. SRAs must demonstrate the desire to assist others and build relationships with students from diverse backgrounds. They must possess an ability to accept and implement CRD policies and exhibit emotional maturity, dependability and responsibility. It is also expected that the Senior Resident Assistant will display a willingness to take on the responsibilities of leadership within the campus community at large.
Must be enrolled as a student at Friends University. Applicants for the Senior Resident Assistant position must have lived on the Friends University campus a minimum of two complete semesters prior to the term of employment and must have at least two semesters of experience as a Resident Assistant, with preference given to RAs in Upper Class Housing. Applicants must be in good standing with the university community and have clearly demonstrated the ability to help other students engage in college living, showing initiative and creativity in building community in the residential setting as an RA. Candidates must commit to fulfilling the position for the full academic year with no plans to transfer or go on a study abroad program during the year in which they serve.
Be available for an adequate number of hours, approximately 20 hours per week, some of which must be posted to RAs. SRAs need to communicate with the Residential Coordinator about nights off campus to ensure that either they or the Residential Coordinator are present or near the facility.
