Job Purpose

As a 1st Grade Teacher, you will develop lesson plans aligned with established guidelines, establish rapport with students, staff, and parents, and motivate students to develop essential skills and knowledge.
How You Will Impact Education
Instruction/Education Responsibilities
- Plan and implement instruction adhering to the company's philosophy, goals, and objectives.
- Create purposeful and effective lesson plans to maximize learning.
- Present subject matter with real-world, application-based examples.
- Review student records to understand individual abilities and needs; maintain accurate records.
- Strive to maximize each student's educational achievement.
- Use varied learning modalities and differentiated instruction.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments regularly and provide appropriate activities.
- Assess student strengths and weaknesses, and generate progress reports.
- Refer students with learning issues to support staff and review student work.
- Coordinate class field trips and prepare students for state assessments.
- Stay current in subject matter and contribute to curriculum improvement.
Provide a Classroom Environment Conducive to Learning
- Create a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
- Maintain positive rapport, patience, and nurturing behaviors.
- Ensure classroom safety, cleanliness, and display student work.
- Develop and enforce classroom rules fairly and consistently.
Instructional Planning
- Develop lesson plans aligned with guidelines and goals.
- Design individual and group activities to meet objectives and student needs.
- Prepare thoroughly for each class and participate in curriculum planning.
- Incorporate diagnostic information and IEP requirements into planning.
- Protect instructional resources and facilities.
School/Community Relations
- Establish cooperative relationships and communicate with parents when appropriate.
- Maintain clear, positive communication with all stakeholders.
- Respect student confidentiality and participate in parent activities.
- Engage in extracurricular activities to foster a positive school culture.
Required Qualifications And Skills

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent; valid teaching certification.
- 1-3 years successful teaching experience or internship.
- Knowledge of learning theories, motivation, reinforcement, and evaluation techniques.
- Understanding and commitment to company values.
- Successful criminal and employment background checks.
- Effective instructional and communication skills; adherence to ethical standards.
- Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
