Job summary

FX Networks in Burbank seeks a Spring 2027 FX Original Programming Intern to support Development, Current Programming and Casting. You will gain exposure to the creative process, read trades, and help with reports and research while learning how shows move from idea to production.

The role runs January 2027 through June 2027, with a 40-hour work week, reporting to the Manager of Development. A cover letter is required, and housing may be needed for the duration.

About the Role & Program

Would you like to take your passion for television to the next level by working alongside FX's Emmy Award winning team? As an intern for the FX Original Programming team, you'd contribute your skills and knowledge of the television industry to help our growing slate of content across our Development, Current Series, and Casting. We have a prestigious slate of programming that includes Shōgun, Alien: Earth, Adults, The Bear, Far Cry, American Horror Story, The Drop, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Lowdown, and many more. Our team has received 661 Emmy® Award nominations and won 140 Emmys!

This approximate dates of this internship are from January 2027 through June 2027. As an intern, you will report directly to the Manager of Development. A cover letter indicating your interest and knowledge of the FX brand is required.

What You Will Do

You'd join a team dedicated to creating groundbreaking content. We endeavor to give you as much exposure to the creative process, real-world scenarios and skill sets as we can so that you not only learn about FX Original Programming but walk away with the skills and experience necessary to help launch a potential career in TV. You will have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with our shows, as well as be given tasks from the Development, Current Programming, and Casting departments. You will be encouraged to read the trades and ask questions. We motivate our interns to pursue things that intrigue you. Every single day as a FX Original Programming Intern is different!

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong writing skills and an ability to analyze story and write coverage
  • Interest in reading at a high volume
  • Strong research skills
  • Proven understanding of competitive TV landscape
  • Strong curiosity about learning Cable and Streaming TV
  • Familiarity with industry talent (writers, directors, actors, etc.)
  • Analytical skills for developing projects and giving notes as well as identifying talent (writers, directors, actors)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a professional environment
  • Passion for learning and eagerness to be a team player
  • General knowledge of FX Networks programming
  • A background using Airtable

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization

Additional Required Documents: A cover letter indicating your interest and knowledge of the FX brand is required.

Additional Information
  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
  • The approximate dates of this internship are January 2027 until June 2027
  • Fully available from Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm PT for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank, CA area
  • The pay rate for this role in California is $23.00 per hour.
