Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and current GHC undergraduate student.
  • Satisfactory Academic Progress and FAFSA on file as applicable.
  • Currently enrolled for at least six credit hours and eligible for Federal Work-Study.

Responsibilities

  • Capture photos/videos at events and campus activities; create reels and shorts.
  • Develop content strategies; post on GHC’s official social media platforms.
  • Represent GHC’s culture and values; align with branding guidelines.
  • Track engagement metrics and report insights to the Marketing team.
  • Collaborate with students, faculty, and staff to highlight key stories.

Job Summary

The Federal Work-Study Social Media Influencer will play a vital role in promoting Georgia Highlands College (GHC) by creating engaging and dynamic content to enhance student retention and recruitment efforts. Reporting directly to the Campus Marketing team, this position is responsible for showcasing life at GHC through social media platforms, ensuring the content stays on-brand and helps maintain top-of-mind awareness for the college.

Responsibilities
  • Content Creation: Capture photos and videos at events, on-campus activities, and other college-related happenings. Create reels, YouTube Shorts, and other short-form video content highlighting GHC¿s student experience.
  • Social Media Management: Develop creative content strategies aligned with GHC branding guidelines. Collaborate with the Marketing team to schedule and post content on GHC¿s official social media platforms.
  • Brand Representation: Serve as an ambassador for GHC, showcasing the college¿s culture, diversity, and academic opportunities. Ensure all content represents the values and mission of GHC.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Track engagement metrics to identify successful content strategies. Provide feedback to the Marketing team on student trends and preferences.
  • Collaboration: Partner with students, faculty, and staff to identify key stories and events to highlight. Attend GHC events to document and promote activities.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent and current GHC undergraduate student with:
    • Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) currently being met¿
    • Current-Year FAFSA on file with all verifications and any other requirements complete¿
    • Currently enrolled for at least six (6) credit hours (in most instances)¿
  • Some prior experience is preferred but not required… Job specific training will be provided.¿
  • Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study.
  • Enthusiastic about social media trends, content creation, and digital marketing.
  • Strong skills in photography, videography, and video editing (experience with apps like Canva, Adobe Spark, or CapCut is a plus).
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and stay organized.
  • Must be willing to travel between campuses as needed (transportation provided or reimbursed when applicable).
Proposed Salary

This position pays $12.00 per hour for up to 19 hours per week
