Job summary

Elliott Davis is seeking a Financial Reporting Valuation Manager to lead complex valuation engagements for ASC 805, ASC 718, and PCAOB audit reviews, with cross-industry exposure across healthcare, life sciences, industrials, construction, and real estate.

You will manage client relationships, mentor staff, and collaborate with senior leadership to grow the valuation practice in a dynamic advisory environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• 5–7 years of fair market and fair value valuation experience at a Top 20 or Big 4 firm; comfortable with public company audit reviews.
• CPA, ASA, CFA, or ABV certification pursued or completed.
• Strong ASC 805 and ASC 718 knowledge; Monte Carlo experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day execution of fair market and fair value valuation engagements.
• Review third-party valuation reports and provide detailed technical support to audit teams on financial assumptions and models.
• Mentor and supervise Seniors and Associates across verticals; coach staff effectively.
• Act as primary contact for clients to ensure timely project delivery.
• Assist senior leadership with business development, proposals, and expanding client relationships.
• Perform other duties within the scope of the practice.

Financial Reporting Valuation Manager

The Financial Reporting Valuation Manager is a dynamic professional responsible for executing and managing valuation engagements primarily for purposes of financial reporting. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, complex valuation projects for purchase accounting (ASC 805), stock compensation (ASC 718) and PCAOB audit reviews. The role also includes some responsibility for managing valuation engagements under fair market value for various purposes. The Manager will also have opportunities to work across a variety of industries, with exposure to healthcare, life sciences, industrials, construction, and real estate. The Manager will act as a key project leader, managing day-to-day client relationships, ensuring technical accuracy, and supporting senior leadership in expanding our consulting footprint. This role is designed for a high-impact professional from a large firm background looking to advance their career and help shape a specialized valuation platform.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day execution of fair market and fair value valuation engagements.
• Review third-party valuation reports and provide detailed technical support to audit teams regarding financial assumptions and quantitative modeling.
• Spearhead the daily mentorship, training, and workload management of Seniors and Associates across verticals.
• Act as a primary point of contact for clients, ensuring timely project delivery.
• Assist senior leadership with business development initiatives, proposal drafting, and expanding relationships with existing clients.
• Other duties as assigned within the scope of the practice.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of relevant fair market and fair value valuation experience Proven experience at a Top 20 or Big 4 accounting firm; must be comfortable with the strict scrutiny of public company audit reviews.
• CPA, ASA, CFA, or ABV certification (completed or actively pursuing).
• Strong technical background in ASC 805 and ASC 718, with additional consideration given for experience with Monte Carlo Simulation software.
• Proven track record of supervising high-performing project teams, with a focus on translating complex valuation concepts into actionable coaching for staff.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly defend complex valuation assumptions to audit partners, clients, and regulatory reviewers.
