Pleasant HopeR-VI School District is accepting applications for future open teacher positions.
Pleasant Hope offers a 4-day school week (Tuesday-Friday), competitive salary, full health benefits, and a family-like working atmosphere. The successful candidate will have a valid Missouri teaching certificate, an understanding of the Missouri Learning Standards, a desire to work collaboratively as a team member in a Professional Learning Community, and the ability to effectively integrate technology in the classroom. POSITION: Elemantary, Middle, Secondary Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Minimum BS or BA degree
- Certification : Certification appropriate to the position
- Experience: Appropriate experience for position Preferred
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
- Reports to: Building Principal
- Supervises: Classroom aide, Instructional Aide or Student Teacher and students
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School term, salaried
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
CURRICULUM RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
- Plans and implements a program of study that, as much as possible meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of all students.
- Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation. upon request of immediate supervisor.
- Encourages students to maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with those goals establishes and communicates clear objectives to students for all lessons and units.
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
- Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
- Evaluates the learning problems of students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of district specialists as needed and/or required.
- Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and/or volunteer(s) where applicable.
- Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Maintains an environment that enables students to have positive self- esteem.
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and appropriate manner.
- Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as needed.
- Supervises in the halls and cafeteria as scheduled by the administrator.
- Reports incidents of suspected child abuse to Building Principal and Division of Family Services.
- Obeys all rules and policies established by the Board of Education and Administration.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Administrator during the contracted school day.
COMMUNITY/PUBLIC RELATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education- related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
- Serves as a class or club sponsor as agreed.
- Works to promote a positive school-community relationship with the partnering of parents, students, teachers, administration, school board, business, law enforcement, etc. to promote the best learning environment for a child in the district.
