Job summary

Derby Public Schools seeks a Classroom Instructor to create a positive learning environment and facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students. You will work closely with staff and administration to respond to individual needs and abilities.

The position reports to the Principal and/or Program Director and offers an annual contract. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and a current Kansas State Teaching License, with a commitment to ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
• Current Kansas State Teaching License on file in the Central Office.
• Desire to continue career improvement.

• Coordinate and supervise field trips.
• Assist with the activities of student organizations.
• Attend and assist when necessary with school events such as musical programs, athletics, student recognition ceremonies, graduation and open house.
• See that district policies are observed during all activities.
• Obtain advance approval of the principal for all activities and expenditures.
• Adhere to all district health and safety policies.
