Job description

THE ROLE

Join us in building next-level creative pipelines! You’ll develop Python scripts, Houdini nodes, and HDAs to streamline creative workflows and pipeline integration. Working closely with teams, you’ll tackle deployment challenges, optimize performance, and drive innovation in an Agile environment. You'll also document your work and empower users to leverage new pipeline capabilities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  1. Develop Python scripts, Houdini nodes and Houdini Digital Assets (HDA) for the efficient management of creative data
  2. Participate in daily scrums and interviews with stakeholders to ensure the successful gathering of requirements, planning and execution for all tasks involved in delivering a pipeline that integrates with other aspects of the overall project
  3. Collaborate and contribute with peers in an Agile development environment, including conducting code reviews to ensure quality and standards are maintained
  4. Identify challenging aspects of integration and deployment of the pipeline in production together with members of the client studio
  5. Contribute to documenting design, implementation and usage of the pipeline
  6. Educate end users on how to take advantage of new capabilities unlocked by the pipeline

WHO YOU ARE

  1. BSc degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields
  2. 7+ years experience developing pipeline solutions in a visual-effects or animation-production studio, or a combination of an advanced degree plus relevant work experience
  3. Highly skilled in the use of Houdini, including in the creation and maintenance of HDA’s and VEX code
  4. Experience writing Python code for creative pipelines, with special focus on the relevant Houdini modules
  5. Expert in workflows and pipelines for VFX production
  6. Adept at writing code for asset-management systems
  7. Familiarity with Katana and/or Maya
  8. Experience working collaboratively with version control (e.g., Git)
  9. Working familiarity with Agile/Scrum development process
  10. Self-motivated with strong communication skills and able to work both in a team and independently
  11. Ability to work with minimal direction and manage a project independently from start to finish
  12. Proof of eligibility to work in the United States

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  1. The annual compensation includes equity (per qualifications)
  2. The annual salary range for this position is $125,000 to $160,000 plus equity (per qualifications)
  3. The base pay offered will take into account internal parity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
