Job summary

Weekley Homes L.P. in Charleston seeks an experienced supervisor to guide residential builds from development to completion. You will manage subcontractors, coordinate schedules, and control costs, ensuring safety and quality on site.

The role requires strong communication and leadership, with the ability to handle diverse teams and complex documents. A fast-paced environment and close collaboration with customers are expected.

• Residential production building experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, implement and coordinate quality-built homes from development through final construction.
• Involvement in managerial oversight of homes and subcontractors.
• Oversee scheduling, delivery and use of materials, budgets, schedules and contracts.
• Monitor progress and ensure safety, code compliance and quality.
• Maintain cost control and track construction costs against the budget.
• Prepare daily, monthly and quarterly reports for management.
• Locate, negotiate pricing and scope of work for labor needs and trades.
• Close out with customers and conduct Home Buyer Meetings.

Job description

David Weekley Homes islooking for enthusiastic people with residential construction and proven supervisory or management experience to support our Charleston division. This role requires excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.

Job responsibilities:

• The planning, scheduling, implementation andcoordination of quality-built homes from development through final construction on a timely andeconomical basis.
• Involvement in managerial oversight of homes.
• Selection, coordination, oversight andmanagement of people, materials, budgets, schedules andcontracts.
• Direct andmonitor the progress of a variety of projects.
• Oversee the scheduling, delivery anduse of materials, the quality of construction, worker productivity andcompliance with building/safety codes.
• Maintain safe, clean and compliant job sites.
• Understand contracts, plans, construction methods andregulations.
• Track andcontrol construction costs against the budget in order to avoid cost overruns.
• Prepare daily, monthly andquarterly reports.
• Locate, negotiate pricing, obtain insurance info and scope of work for various labor needs.
• Schedule and manage subcontractors and sub-contractor relationships in order to build homes on schedule and close on time.
• Complete homes and all customer walk through items prior to closing.
• Conduct Home Buyer Meetings with customers.

Qualifications

• Prior residential production building experience is preferred.
• Must possess the ability to supervise effectively at all levels andwith a variety of personalities.
• Motivate building partners to perform at a high level of competency.
• Manage time effectively, multi-task andprioritize in order to meet established goals anddeadlines.
• Computer proficiency required to handle job costing, payroll andcommunication with vendors andtrades.
• Be decisive, flexible andwork well under pressure when faced with unexpected situations or delays and in a very fast-paced environment.
• Can analyze andresolve problems. Excellent organizational, leadership andcommunication skills.
• Knowledge of Construction Practices and Terminology. Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction documents.
• Attention to Detail and Persistence in follow-up.
• Strong sense of urgency.
