Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist the bus driver in maintaining student safety.
• Monitor and report student behavior on the bus.
• Support students with additional needs during boarding.
• Assist younger students, students with disabilities, or students requiring additional support when boarding and exiting the bus
• Monitor student behavior and address minor issues promptly; report ongoing or serious behavior concerns to the bus driver and appropriate administrators
• Help ensure students are properly seated and remain seated while the bus is moving
• Assist with the use of safety equipment, including seat belts, harnesses, or wheelchair securement systems, as applicable
• Maintain awareness of emergency procedures and assist during bus evacuations or emergencies
• Communicate effectively with the bus driver regarding student behavior, safety concerns, or route issues
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information in accordance with district policies and applicable laws
• Report accidents, incidents, or safety concerns in accordance with district procedures
• Attend required trainings, meetings, and safety briefings
• Support a positive school climate by modeling respectful and professional behavior
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Transportation Director or designee
