Job description

Seeking an individual with classroom experience to manage our aftercare program.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Should be able to effectively communicate, listen, and collaborate in a team setting, helping staff implement a high-quality educational program for preschool-aged children and fostering positive relationships with both the children and their parents.
  2. Promote self-help skills and good hygiene by modeling appropriate behaviors to encourage and foster independence.
  3. Develop and implement preschool age-appropriate activities and curriculum with a daily routine and consistent schedule. Participate in activities with the students and plan ahead to ensure all necessary classroom materials are prepared and available.
  4. Facilitate communication among daytime teachers, the director, and parents to serve as a vital link between the child’s morning and afternoon activities. Observe and document children’s interests and behaviors and relay the information to parents, teachers, and director.
  5. Create a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment for all students while ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
  6. Promptly inform the Program Director about accidents, illnesses, and incidents, and keep parents informed about any incidents in your care.
  7. Manage the Aftercare teachers' time off requests and keep the director informed of any schedule changes.
  8. Additional responsibilities as needed.
Skills:
  • Strong Classroom Management Skills.
  • 2-3 years experience working in a preschool classroom (ages 3-6)
  • Verbal and communication skills

Position Starts January 2, 2025.

Compensation: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
