Job summary

Sun State Eye Care is seeking an experienced dispensing optician to assist patients with selecting frames and lenses, take precise measurements, and manage orders. The role emphasizes accurate fitting and friendly customer service, with a focus on ophthalmic products and teamwork.

Ideal candidates have 3 years of dispensing experience, ABO certification preferred, and familiarity with VSP Billing. Compensation ranges hourly, with locations in Sun City West and Anthem, AZ.

Qualifications

• 3 years as dispensing optician
• ABO Certification preferred

• Experience interpreting prescriptions and checking lenses

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting eyewear to meet individual needs
• Measure pupillary distance and optical centers
• Place orders for frames, lenses and contacts with laboratories
• Heat, shape, or bend frames for proper fit
• Maintain frame inventory and records; ensure lenses meet specifications

Job Summary

• Assist patients with selecting frames
• Obtain measurements for glasses orders
• Adjust frames and lenses to fit correctly on patients faces
• Order frames, lenses and contacts from prescription laboratories
• Manage inventory of frames

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selection of best eyewear for their individual needs
• Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit patient’s individual needs.
• Measure patient’s pupillary distance, and optical centers of eyes.
• Place orders for frames, lenses and contacts from prescription laboratories
• Heat, shape, or bend plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to fit clients, using pliers and hands.
• Maintain records of frame inventory, invoices and patient orders
• Verify that finished lenses are ground to specifications.
