Future Opening: Assistant Fitness Trainer

Part Time • Springfield (Wabash Ave)

The Fitness Trainer will be responsible for running the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF). This includes assisting new members in achieving their fitness goals by leading small group classes, designing simple workout programs, and instructing them on the proper use of equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct and run the Planet Fitness PE@PF program following the schedule provided by the club.
• Consult with members regarding their fitness goals and instruct them on proper and safe equipment use.
• Create bi-weekly updates with a variety of exercises.
• Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic.
• Assist in front desk activities including:
  • Answer phones courteously and assist callers with questions.
  • Check members into the system.
  • Assist with new member sign-up.
  • Guide prospective members on tours.
• Respond to member questions and concerns promptly and professionally, escalating to management as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements

• A passion for fitness and health!
• Upbeat and positive attitude.
• Punctuality and reliability are essential.
• Exceptional customer service skills; ability to interact positively and professionally with members and co-workers, exceeding expectations.
• Strong listening skills with empathy and problem-solving abilities.
• Diplomacy in all interactions, using appropriate behavior and language.
• Current CPR Certification required.
• Exceptional knowledge of Exercise Science.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Physical Demands

• Standing and walking throughout the shift.
• Talking in person or on the phone regularly.
• Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Potential exposure to toxic chemicals during shifts.
