Job summary

HII’s Mission Technologies division seeks a Future Operations Planner specializing in unmanned maritime systems, experimentation, and innovation. This role supports operational planning, integration of emerging technologies, and development of future concepts to enhance fleet readiness and capability.

The selected candidate will work with technical, operational, and warfare communities to shape how unmanned systems are employed across distributed maritime operations, designing and advancing

Qualifications

• 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in related field; 3 years with a Master’s; or 9 years with a HS diploma.
• Experience in military or government planning and exercise analysis.
• Knowledge of maritime operations and naval intelligence processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop future operations plans that incorporate unmanned systems into multi-domain maritime operations.
• Lead and support experimentation initiatives with objectives, test plans, and data collection.
• Explore concepts like manned–unmanned teaming and autonomy-driven decision support.
• Synchronize experimentation with fleet units and program offices to transition lessons learned.
• Conduct operational analysis on emerging technologies and threats relevant to unmanned systems.
• Produce planning documents, concepts of employment, and briefs for leadership.
• Participate in wargaming, scenario development, and operational design events.
• Identify opportunities for rapid capability development and innovative approaches.
• Support battle rhythm events and coordination with Navy, Joint, and Interagency partners.
• Deliver clear written products and brief senior leaders and planners.
