Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking a Preconstruction Engineer Intern for a summer internship (May–August) in Westmont, IL. The role focuses on learning construction industry processes, policies, budgeting, and on-site coordination under supervision.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Construction Engineering/Management degree, have a high school diploma, and can commit to 40 hours per week. Prior summer construction experience is a plus, with strong reading of contracts and drawings emphasized.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Construction Engineering/Management or closely-related field.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to work 40 hours a week.
• Exposure to estimating techniques and cost control is a plus.
• Read and understand contracts, specs, drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assist the project team in completing designated projects and learn construction processes and policies.
• Gain understanding of budgets, cost accounting, invoices, contracts, and change orders.
• Develop knowledge of job-site coordination, scheduling, quality control and safety.
