For this role, we seek individuals responsible for safely and efficiently delivering equipment, products, and materials to customers in a timely and professional manner.
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate vehicles according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
- Transport loads safely and promptly over required routes, obeying all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Skillfully maneuver trucks and trailers into loading and unloading areas; follow loading crew signals.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods and materials, using specialized equipment when necessary; unload empty skids and return equipment to designated areas.
- Maintain signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; deliver documentation upon route completion.
- Perform routine service on trucks, including checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; report maintenance issues to the Shipping Supervisor.
- Arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimal loading patterns.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with professionalism and courtesy in interactions.
- Ability to stay focused in a busy environment.
- Possess a valid commercial driver’s or chauffeur’s license, appropriate for the vehicle weight, depending on state regulations.
- Pass background checks and drug testing as required by federal and/or state transportation regulations.
- Pass a DOT physical, as trucks are over 10,000 lbs.
- Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicles.
- Ability to sit for long periods in a trailer cab.
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds.
- Willingness to travel frequently.
- CDL drivers may need to be clean-shaven to meet customer requirements.
- This is a safety-sensitive position; employment contingent upon passing a 10-panel drug screen.
