JOB PURPOSE
To train young men and women to be, know, and do what it takes to make disciples in hard places.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Training Elements:
- Leading training elements include Advocate Training, Training Fridays, Field Personnel Training, Security Training, Transportation Training, First Aid and Survival Training (FAST), and international briefing and debriefing.
Results: The successful leading of Fusion training elements results in:
- many leaders contributing meaningfully to the training of Fusion cohorts.
- advocates who are confident and competent to lead their cohorts.
- teams equipped to serve effectively in hard places.
- the gospel proclaimed, disciples made, and churches planted to the glory of God!
- more fans of Fusion as practical training proves valuable.
Cohorts:
- Leading cohorts includes advocate coaching and care, accountability constructs, enforcing standards, maintaining the desired culture through regular inspection, conflict resolution, and weekly gatherings.
Results: The successful leading of Fusion cohorts results in
- teams that remain focused, undistracted on their mission.
- advocates who are fully resourced and supported to overcome barriers.
- individual growth and development, especially in those who need additional help.
Interns:
- Leading interns includes teaching Fusion Internship and Making Disciples, developing future advocates, and overseeing intern roles and responsibilities.
Results: The successful leading of interns results in:
- competent men and women contributing to the program using their gifts.
- young leaders increase in character, conviction, and competence.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Throughout the year, this role typically will be conducted during business hours at Midwestern: M-F, 8:00am 4:30pm. The normal setting is a professional, office setting.
- There are a handful of weeks and weekends throughout the year that require around-the-clock supervision of Fusions major training events. These events are conducted in wilderness settings, outdoors, heat and cold, and retreat centers. Occasionally, this role will include opportunities for international travel.
- Additionally, this role is highly relational due to the supervision of advocates and interns. It is not uncommon for this role to include phone calls, emails, texts, or personal meetings outside business hours to provide support to these young leaders.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Know the character, knowledge, and skills required for equipping Fusion cohorts.
- Be an avid learner of new skills and information, able to adapt to changes in the field.
- Have a high capacity and flexible attitude toward work volume.
- Take initiative and ownership of large projects.
- Practice effective delegation.
- Able to educate others on the character, knowledge, and skills required for effective deployment.
- Able to communicate expectations for training events to everyone involved.
- Must maintain a consistent presence among the cohort.
- Able to pay attention to details of individuals’ lives and have the courage to address concerns.
- Have sincere love and godly affection for Fusion advocates.
- Patiently persevere in maintaining program expectations.
- Possess an understanding of the character, competencies, and convictions required for a qualified advocate.
In addition to the traits above, other qualifications include:
- College degree related to missions
- Seminary education is preferred, especially missions-related courses
- Significant experiences in international travel and cross-cultural engagement
- Sound physical fitness
- Experience and skill in public teaching in formal and informal settings
- Able to multi-task, analyze workload, and prioritize as necessary for the benefit of the department
- Must possess a strong attention to detail
- Able to take the initiative to complete the duties of the position without the need of direct supervision.
- Able to learn and utilize new skills and information to improve job performance and efficiency.
- Must be able to work independently, as well as a part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must possess a positive attitude
- Must be able to show a desire and willingness to learn
- Must be able to pass background screening, including driving record

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This job is physically demanding. Fusion trains young Christians to represent Christ in physically hard places around the world. Thus, Fusions training regularly incorporates physical challenges.
- The Fusion Training Coordinator needs to be physically capable of participating and leading in physically challenging contexts. These contexts include camping, backpacking, hiking, marching, climbing, rappelling, aerobic workouts, running, etc. Since these activities are performed outdoors, the job requires the ability to endure harsh weather conditions.
