Job summary

Thea Energy in the United States is seeking a Computational Nuclear Engineer to advance neutronics and multiphysics simulations for stellarator fusion systems. You will develop workflows for high-fidelity transport analyses and collaborate across disciplines to optimize shielding and dose calculations.

PhD in Nuclear Engineering or related field with 2+ years (or Master’s with 4+ years) plus strong Python/C++ skills and experience with Monte Carlo codes and HPC is preferred.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Nuclear Engineering or related field is required or 4+ years with Master’s degree.
  • Strong knowledge of Monte Carlo radiation transport codes (OpenMC/MCNP/Serpent).
  • Proficiency in Python and C++ programming.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement workflows for high-fidelity neutronics and multiphysics simulations.
  • Conduct simulations of fusion shielding, dose rate, and energy deposition.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams for multiphysics coupling (neutronics to thermal-hydraulics or structural analysis).
  • Prepare technical reports and publications based on simulation results.
