Ferguson is seeking a Fusion Field Technician to support the North Dakota/South Dakota region. This is a remote role, ideally based within the Central Time Zone, near Fargo, ND, Bismarck, ND, or Sioux Falls, SD.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect work for defects, dimensions, alignment, end preparations, and seam splits in pipe.
• Maintain a clean and safe machine station, adhering to Ferguson’s quality and performance standards.
• Report equipment malfunctions, safety issues, and necessary repairs.
• Measure, record, and add random pipe lengths accurately.
• Follow procedures for measuring and cutting pipe with various saws.
• Move loose and bundled pipe within the yard.
• Read blueprints.
• Assemble pipe orders in sticks or bundles and organize work supplies.
• Operate powered industrial equipment per OSHA guidelines and Ferguson procedures.
• Perform live watermain taps.
• Assist with warehousing when not engaged in fusion or tapping jobs.
• Travel within and out of state for jobs.
• Collaborate with customers and vendors.
• Potentially serve as backup driver.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of mechanical machine experience.
• Residence in Sioux Falls, SD, Bismarck, ND, or Fargo, ND.
• Fabrication experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices.
• Attention to detail, integrity, and professionalism.
• Willingness to learn new skills.
• Ability to thrive in an inclusive environment.
• Experience with McElroy equipment and fusion of HDPE/Fusible PVC pipe preferred.
• Training in machine operation and fusion will be provided.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Willing to travel to other states.
• Valid state-issued license required.
• Possession or ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
