Qualifications

• Several years of equipment repair/maintenance experience, preferably with fusion equipment (McElroy preferred).
• Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with fusion welders, parts, and operation.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and parts diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to safely use hand and shop tools, including cutting and grinding equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Strong commitment to safety.
• Preferred: McElroy certification, equipment testing/calibration experience, and mobile/field service experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, diagnose, repair, and overhaul fusion equipment, especially McElroy machines and other major fusion brands
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to restore full functionality
• Prepare and inspect rental equipment, ensuring safety, testing, and calibration before and after rentals
• Coordinate warranty repairs with manufacturers and vendors
• Manage parts inventory and maintain accurate service and repair documentation
• Maintain shop tools and test equipment, including calibration
• Assist with major shop overhauls and mobile/in-field service as needed
• Follow safety protocols and ensure equipment meets safety and quality standards
