Job summary

Bend Park and Recreation District is seeking a part-time Fused Glass Instructor to lead youth and/or adult classes, develop lesson plans, and guide projects from design to kiln-firing.

You will foster a safe, creative learning environment, monitor progress, and collaborate with staff to schedule and prepare materials for fall and winter programming. Prior teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent; college coursework or training in related field preferred.
• Two (2) years of professional level experience in the area of specialty or a satisfactory combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Instructs assigned classes and activities.
• Plans and implements curriculum based on program objectives.
• Oversees participant safety and progress.
• Develops rapport with participants and answers questions.
• Collaborates with staff to schedule classes.
• Communicates facility and supply needs.
• Sets up and cleans up after class.
• Addresses safety and risk management issues.
• Facilitates inclusion of participants with special needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
