Fairway Holdings, Inc. in downtown St. Louis is seeking a skilled Furniture Wood Finisher to prepare, stain, paint, seal, and re finish wood surfaces to a high-quality finish.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of professional wood-finishing experience, familiarity with custom furniture or antiques, and training in chemical safety or spray finishing. Schedule is Monday–Thursday, four 10-hour days, with options 5:00 AM–3:30 PM or 6:00 AM–4:30 PM; enjoy a 3-day weekend every week.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional wood-finishing experience.
• Experience with custom furniture, antiques, cabinetry, or high-end millwork.
• Training or certification in chemical safety, spray finishing, or occupational safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare wood and furniture surfaces by sanding, stripping, filling, masking, and cleaning.
• Apply stains, dyes, paints, lacquers, varnishes, oils, waxes, and other finishes.
• Match existing colors and finishes when repairing or restoring furniture.
• Operate spray equipment, brushes, rollers, and other finishing tools.
• Inspect finished pieces for color consistency, smoothness, coverage, and defects.
• Mix and label finishing materials according to manufacturer instructions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Clean and maintain spray guns, tools, equipment, and ventilation systems.

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Furniture Wood Finisher to join our team. This position is responsible for preparing, staining, painting, sealing, and refinishing furniture and wood surfaces to achieve a high-quality, durable finish. The ideal candidate takes pride in precise craftsmanship, works safely, and can consistently meet quality standards and production deadlines.

• Workweek: Monday – Thursday (Four 10-hour days)
• Shift Options: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM OR 6:00 AM–4:30 PM for public transportation users
• Breaks: One lunch break + two 15-minute paid breaks daily
